Our USDA-accredited veterinarians provide comprehensive health certificates that comply with international travel regulations, verifying your cat’s health, vaccinations, and necessary treatments. Fees for this service begin at $410.

Please provide documentation of current and past Rabies vaccinations and for most countries, microchipping if performed at a different hospital. Please ensure the Rabies certificate contains the manufacturer, the brand name of the vaccine (ie: Vanguard, Purevax, Defensor, etc.), lot/serial number, and the lot expiration date. Most countries will not accept the certificate without all of this information. The Rabies vaccine must be given by a veterinarian at New York Cat Hospital at least 28 days before the health certificate visit if you are temporarily visiting a country listed as high risk by the CDC.

Important Information If You Plan To Return To The United States

As of August 1, 2024, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) has dramatically changed the requirements for pets to enter or re-enter the USA from many countries. These requirements are listed at The CDC Website .

Your destination country sets the entry requirements for pets, which can change at any time. You must verify the country requirements every time you plan to travel with your pet. Find your Destination Country Requirements

Please also check the airline to ensure they will transport your pet; several airlines no longer transport pets to the USA, even from low-risk countries. Requirements are currently changing rapidly. Despite our best efforts, the vets at New York Cat Hospital cannot guarantee that your cat will be permitted re-entry to the USA. We strongly recommend boarding or using a pet sitter while you are away if you are traveling to a high-risk country and returning to the USA.
